The New Port

As many of our readers have heard the brand new port in our capital Steak is set to open this Wednesday. Our beloved president is set to park the first boat (his private yacht). This port should bring many new trade opportunities which will boost our economy to new heights.

However it is not happy endings for everyone. With the new port being opened the old one will have much fewer boats going through meaning a exponential drop in staff numbers. This created uproar among the labor unions last march but the ports authority was set to hire most of the laborers from the old harbor to work in the the new one. However it turns out that there is only about a third of the job space that the authorities had originally promised which has again sparked anger.

With advanced technological advances the new port is supposed to be the greenest in the world. This has created a problem because while attempting to become less harmful to the environment and conserve energy, engineers have had to develop robots to do much of the processes in the new harbor. There is set to be a port authorities strike on Monday to show support for all of those laid off because of the new port.

Unlike many governments the Hamish government has been working hard to resolve these labor issues. Even the president has announced that he is set to talk to the Labor Union leaders tomorrow. The whole country will look with anticipation to see what the government will come up with.

Although there is much distress and uncertainty surrounding this issue, it is encouraging to our citizens to see how much the authorities care about each and every one of them.
